Fóssil prova que o sexo começou a 350 milhões de anos

A era em que o sexo se tornou popular como forma de reprodução, foi fixado pela descoberta de um peixe fossilizado grávida e seu embrião.
Vestígios do peixe primitivo, Incisoscutum ritchiei, trouxeram provas dos primeiros indícios de cópula e de nascimentos no reino animal.
Até a evolução dos peixes de couro, pensava-se que o sexo era limitado às técnicas de fertilização externa , em que o esperma e os ovos são injetados na água para se misturarem.
Os investigadores disseram que a detecção de dois tipos de peixes que vivem ao mesmo tempo , mostra que a cópula entre os vertebrados foi um meio comum de reprodução cerca de 200 milhões de anos mais cedo do que tinha sido pensado
